Cf.
NEWS The HSEPP is broadening its scope ! The HSEPP is broadening its scope and outreach efforts, and aims to especially engage students and young researchers. To this end, its conferences will expand beyond the strict focus on Cambodia. HSEPP will more actively sponsor lectures on topics of interest to Southeast Asian Studies, together with international research that is relevant to Cambodia. In a context of globalization, it is critical to place Cambodia upon an international stage, and also provide avenues for Cambodian students and scholars to benefit from comparative research within the region and beyond. Call for papers

The presentation will explore the practices and efforts of those adhering to this mode of Buddhism by offering some cases from Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and particularly Cambodia. The talk will consider the history of Khmer monastic movements in the light of Socially Engaged Buddhism as well as the challenges this Buddhist movement poses to established doctrines and orders.
