How To Study Asia In Social Sciences ans Humanities? Some Methodological Reflections

The next methodological days, organized by young researchers GIS Asia, will be held in Paris on 5 and 6 December 2016. This conference will allow PhD students and postdocs working in Asia (history, political science, international relations, economics, anthropology and sociology) to present their research and improve their theoretical and methodological approaches. It will promote collaboration and the creation of interdisciplinary research project in Asia.

Deadline: submit an abstract (in English or French) of maximum 5000 words to jeunes.chercheurs@gis-reseau-asie.org by 15 July 2016 at the latest.

Call for application for the Thesis Award GIS Asia 2016

The GIS Asia ( http://www.gis-reseau-asie.org/) is organizing the first edition of Thesis Award on Asia in 2016.

The Asia GIS is organizing in 2016 the first edition of Thesis Award on Asia. Eligible thesis supported in 2014 and 2015, in all disciplines of the humanities and social sciences on Asia.
Three prizes of € 2,000, will be awarded by the jury, composed of members of the Scientific Council of the GIS and will be officially presented in December 2016.

Deadline of submission: September 30, 2016.

HHMI & Gates Foundation Grant for Worldwide Scientific Talent on Trialect

The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Wellcome Trust, and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation announce the International Research Scholars Program which aims to support up to 50 outstanding early career scientists/physicians worldwide. The program’s aim is to help develop scientific talent worldwide. Awardees will receive a total of $650,000 over five years, and they can do research in their own countries.  Investigators from around the world can apply, but please review eligibility criteria.
